60 years later

The new cottage industry for journalists is writing books about Trump. These so called expose and politically sanctimonious books become a surefire bestseller and a profitable venture. Previous to this but still viable as a money maker are the so-called researchers who have come up with a myriad of conspiracy theories about the JFK assassination. How many thousands of books have been written about the whodunit  JFK assassination and the accused assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. Does anyone really care about this after 60 years to write a new book without a profit motive being involved. Athletes sell their memorabilia to leave to their grandkids, witnesses and researchers of the JFK assassination seem to write books to pad their retirement account.

Which brings us to Paul Landis and his new revelations after 60 years. Seriously. 60 years. One unique thing about Landis is that he did quit the Secret Service 6 months after the assassination so he did not follow the path of others who stayed long after and served other presidents. His main revelation is that he claims he was the one that removed the magic bullet from the car and put it on the stretcher in the hospital.

Oddly, Landis titles his book The Last Witness, but there were other witnesses that have never come forward. For example...

The Babushka Lady

A middle-aged woman was on the opposite side of Abraham Zapruder and she might have been filming the whole assassination at the same time. Where she was situated she might have filmed the grassy knoll at the time of the assassination and probably resolved many issues. Since then people question if she was even filming or simply holding binoculars. Beverly Oliver has come forward to claim she was the Babushka. Oliver was 17 at the time so she was not a middle-aged woman. As well would a 17 year-old dress up like that? If we assume Oliver was not the Babushka and we assume she was filming then where is that film? Also if Babushka was middle-aged then she probably is no longer with us, so the only hope the film is with her family somewhere.

The Men on the Stairs

There were three men on the stairs near the grassy knoll. Unlike other witnesses they were located at an angle above the motorcade when it passed near the grassy knoll. Only one man has been identified. The man with the hat was Emmett Hudson caretaker of the area including the grassy knoll. He seemed to be more elderly than the other two men and his testimony was very sketchy though he did say the shots seemed to be fired from above him and behind him. He also mentioned there was only one man near him when the pictures clearly show two men.

There has been some conjecture about who the other two men are. No one has claimed to be these men even though some have come forward to say they were located in that area. There has been no testimony ever given by these men. One is dressed with a red shirt and black pants and visibly reacts to the shooting by holding his hands in an oh my god pose. He seems to realize the president had his head blown off. The other man appears to be black and he is in the process of fleeing the scene after witnessing the assassination. He has never been found and no conjecture has ever been made of who he is.

For the thousands of researchers and the thousands of books written, it still seems that the wild theories about the CIA, the mafia, Cuba or Russia being involved with little evidence is more important to them than getting evidence from nearby witnesses. Even Paul Landis has rarely been interviewed in spite of being close to the assassination and quitting the secret service soon after. So people like Lane and Posner and Stone never found these people. They are really some of the last witnesses. A lot of evidence exists that Oswald did it especially the ballistic evidence and his erratic behavior before and after the assassination. However, there are many loose ends that were never analyzed like the missing witnesses. Instead researchers are waiting with bated breath about some internal memo by the CIA about who was working in Mexico at the time of the supposed visit by Oswald in September 1963... Seriously
