LET'S MAKE THE HABS GREAT AGAIN

My fellow habs hockey fans enough is enough. We need to make the habs great again. We have had one lame general manager and coach after another for the habs. I have decided to throw my hat in the ring when the inevitable axe falls on Bergy and Therrien. Habs fans are demanding change. I am an outsider and not part of the establishment. The old establishment makes promises that they never keep when in office. The so-called hockey pundits know nothing about hockey with their loser Corsi stats and lack of vision.

What do I offer you may ask? Well let me start with the obvious:

1) Our trade deals under Bergy have been a catastrophe. We have been getting fleeced by other GM's. What do we have to show for these trade deals. Bergy has gotten us a bunch of fourth liners like Mitchell, Flynn, DSP, Danault, Matteau, and don't remind me of John Scott and Mike Brown. His contract signings of Markov, Plekanec, Eller, Emelin, and Petry are an unmitigated disaster. No other team will trade with us because of these ridiculous contracts. Don't even remind me of our farm system led by the fumbling bumbling Lefebrve.

2) Our previous GM promised us we would get weapons of mass destruction with Gomez, Bourque, and Gionta. Instead we lost good soldiers like Mcdonough and Cammalleri. Frankly they were no WMD's and Gainey and Gauthier lied to us.

3) Looking at our present habs our centers are weak. Little Desharnais with his stubby little legs should not be our number one center. Plekanec our other number one center is a low energy small European and he cannot compete against big American and Canadian kids. McCarron is 6'6 and won a memorial cup. Why did we not bring him up sooner?

4) Our defensive infrastructure is crumbling. Markov is too old and should never have been given that contract. PK has been badly mishandled. He should be unleashed offensively and attack the opposition in a full frontal assault instead of having his hands tied behind his back by Therrien who should be forced to take an IQ test. Nathan Beaulieu is depreciating instead of being an appreciating asset. Emelin is another European who never shows up when it counts.  I will ban Carey Price and PK Subban from playing in a useless irrelevant tournament like the World Cup. These tournaments are not wars our habs players should participate in. Price should only play for the habs until 100% healthy.

5) We need to build a wall around the habs and keep out the small and the weak and the goons who are only playing in the NHL to make money. Our team was built on flying frenchmen and the occasional english stud. Of course, we should allow some of the highly skilled Europeans passage like  Reway or Lehkonen if they enter Canada legally. 

6) Our attack needs to be strengthened and we have to increase our budget and resources. Once we were the greatest offensive team in the NHL and nobody challenged us. We need to make our offence strong again. Galchenyuk should be given one more year to prove he has talent to be a star. Pacioretty needs a playmaking center. The Habs need to do anything possible to sign Stamkos. This includes hiring his old coach Guy Boucher. It sounds like Rick Nash and Phil Kessel are available. We should trade for them and let the Rangers and Penguins pay 50%. Believe me I will force them to pay. I will trade for Drouin and Yakupov and get our fiercest negotiators like Robinson and Dryden to deal with Yzerman and Chiarelli.

7) Signing free agents is not easy with the Canadian dollar devalued and our taxes so high. I will lobby Trudeau and Couillard to exempt superstar hockey players from these mundane financial matters. What are we socialists?
